PressBuddy (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use our mobile application, website, and doorstep ironing services (the “Service”).
1. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Account and profile: name, mobile number, language preference, and profile details you provide.
- Address and location: society, flat or unit details, landmarks, and approximate GPS coordinates when you grant location permission (for serviceability and delivery).
- Orders and payments: order history, item counts, schedules, payment status, transaction references from payment partners (we do not store full card numbers).
- Communications: support messages, feedback, and notification delivery metadata.
- Device and app data: device tokens for push notifications, app version, and technical logs needed for security and reliability.
- Website availability checks: if you use our website “Check Availability” form, name and mobile number you submit to notify you when service expands.
2. How we use your data
- Provide pickup, ironing, delivery, payments, and customer support.
- Verify your identity (including OTP login) and manage your account.
- Send transactional updates about orders via push notifications, in-app notifications, SMS, or WhatsApp according to your settings.
- Improve service quality, security, fraud prevention, and analytics in aggregated or de-identified form where possible.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
3. Legal basis (India)
We process personal data as necessary to perform our contract with you, with your consent where required (for example, optional marketing or certain notifications), and as permitted under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder.
4. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, payment processing, SMS/WhatsApp delivery, maps, push notification platforms), under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Delivery partners to the extent needed to complete pickup and delivery for your orders.
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements (for example, records of completed orders and payments). When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data except where retention is required by law.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong device lock and keep your OTP private.
7. Your choices and rights
- Notification settings: In the PressBuddy app, you can turn off push notifications and WhatsApp notifications in Profile → Notifications.
- Location: You can control location permission in your device settings; some features may not work without it.
- Account deletion: You may delete your account in the app subject to verification and our data retention obligations.
- Access and correction: You may update profile and address details in the app or contact us for other requests permitted by law.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. International transfers
Our primary processing is in India. If data is processed outside India by subprocessors, we ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
